  •                                        Lesson Program

Lessons are open to ages 8 and up in beginning and intermediate experience levels in the disciplines of hunt seat, jumping, and beginning dressage and western pleasure. Lessons start from the ground up, with each participant helping to groom and tack up their mount, and learning the basic safety rules and barn ettiquette to make it an enjoyable and educational experience for everyone involved.  Every student begins on the longe line, (a long line held by the instructor)  to better evaluate their abilities, and then to promote better balance, so that learning will progress faster.  Balancing exercises are used throughout the levels, to keep the rider supple and well-aligned.  Even advanced riders will return to longe line lessons now and then, so that they can focus on their equitation and effectiveness of their seat.

Every student is treated as an individual, and gets focused attention to fit their personal learning style and goals.  Most lessons are private, so that the student can have undivided attention, especially in the beginning stages. Once you have reached a certain level of proficiency, semi-private or group lessons are encouraged to give variety and peer support, as well as another challenge!  Whether you want to jump, trail ride, or just be a more effective rider, I can help you get there! It is my goal to turn out confident and conscientious riders.  Safety always comes first, and all students are required to wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets.

  •                                 Training Program

I am currently accepting new horses for training. I specialize in starting young horses and re-schooling older ones, starting from the ground up, to develop a good trainer/horse relationship. I believe that trust is the most important part of training, as well as variety and flexibility.  Manners and respect are also a very big must!  Each horse has a specialized training plan, according to their age, personality, and background.  I also insist that the owner must gradually become involved in the training process, so that a smooth transition can be made after training is completed.
