All my lesson horses are trained and/or tested by myself personally, before a student is ever put on them.   They must be reliable, safe, sound, and sane!  My more advanced horses provide a safe challenge in a controlled atmosphere and are assigned to students of the appropriate level.  Every time a beginner is put on a new horse, we typically go back to the longe line, to ensure a better transition. 

MIDNIGHT

Midnight is a twenty one year old Appaloosa.  He was successful in the show ring when he was younger as a reiner, as well as in more recent years with 4-h kids!  He is the first horse most of my lessons students ride!  He is very sweet and gentle and is a favorite with all of the kids.  He loves to be groomed and will stand for hours of pampering! 

     
   
                                                 BUDDY

Buddy is a ten year old Missouri Fox Trotter cross.  I have owned him since he was four, and done all his reschooling myself.  He started out as a western pleasure horse with his previous owner, but we knew he'd make a great hunter/dressage horse!  He has been to Pony Club meetings, clinics, and schooling shows.  He is a great lesson horse for every ability level, providing a challenge for my more advanced riders, as well as really taking care of my beginners! 

CHEVY

Chevy is an eight year old Arabian cross gelding.  I have owned him since he was four and started him from the very beginning of his training.  He had barely been touched before I got him.  He is currently being used for my advanced and intermediate riders.  Chevy is very sweet and loves kids.  He is a lot of fun to ride and loves to jump!  

ELSIE

Elsie was the first girl in the group!!!!  She is a nine year old Paint mare.  She has been shown in western pleasure before and is turning out to be a great dressage  horse!  She is really sweet and loves people.  She is used for my advanced and intermediate students.

GYPSY

Gypsy is a fifteen year old Thoroughbred mare who has been with us since August '08.  Gypsy was previously a trail horse and has many miles on her!  She is a favorite with the kids and has settled in nicely to her new job.  She is a great step up from Midnight and has plenty of spunk and personality!

         
BO

Bo is a fourteen year old Thoroughbred gelding and is Gypsy's full brother.  He has also been with us since August '08.  He is very sweet and is currently being used for beginning through intermediate students for both English and Western lessons. 

RED

Red is a twenty-five year old Quarter Horse gelding.  He is incredibly sweet and is used primarily for beginners.  He has been a lesson horse since November '08.  Along with Midnight, he is one of the first horses a lot of my students ride, and we are very lucky to have him!

BLUE

Blue is a twenty one year old Thoroughbred gelding.  He is a former foxhunter and Pony Club mount, who has been there and done that!  Blue has been with us since November '08 and is a favorite with many of my intermediate and advanced students.  His canter is incredibly smooth, and he really takes care of you when jumping!

POSSUM

Possum is an eighteen year old Connemara/Thoroughbred cross gelding.   Years ago he was a children's eventer in California, then several years ago he moved to Kansas and became a Pony Club mount.  He has a real knack for dressage, however he also loves to jump!  He is currently being used for advanced students.

ANNIE

 Annie is a sixteen year old grade pony.  She came to us in February '09.  She was previously a children's trail pony.  She is currently being ridden by intermediate to advanced students in both disciplines.  Her true love is still trail riding and she does a great job carrying the kids around our trails here at Covered M!

ACE

Ace is an eight year old Quarter Horse that joined the team in August '09!  He was previously a western pleasure horse and all-around family horse who unfortunately had to be sold due to time constraints.  Ace is incredibly smooth and a lot of fun to ride!

BANNER

Banner is a sixteen year old Arabian gelding who also joined us in September '09.  He loves people and is very sweet.  Banner was a lesson horse in his previous home and knows the ropes!  He is being used for both English and Western lessons. 

 SPECK

Speck is a twenty-nine year old Quarter Horse gelding.  He has been at Covered M for many years and I purchased him this past January.  He is a favorite with many of the beginners, giving them a great start!

WOODY

Woody is a fourteen year old Arabian gelding who joined the group this May.  Previously a show horse, he has become a fast favorite with many of the kids, and excels with both english and western students of all ability levels.
